The mayor of Val Marie says he hasn’t seen anything like the storm that rolled through his community and southwest Saskatchewan since the 1950’s
Roland Facette says he was out dealing with his cattle when the storm quickly blew in bringing strong winds, heavy rain and hail which ranged from golf to tennis ball size.

“It’s a real mess out here today.” Facette said. “Car windows are broken, tree branches are down. We are busy cleaning up.”
Facette also serves as the town’s fire chief and says there were three fires, but the heavy rain put those blazes out.
