As our friends south of the border get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving this coming week, this story has been getting a ton of attention! Earlier this week Wanda Dench, a grandmother from Phoenix, sent out some text messages to her grand-kids reminding them about her Thanksgiving dinner, what she wasn’t expecting was her grandson to respond with “Who is this?”. Turns out Wanda’s message ended up going to high-school senior Jamal Hinton who says he was a little surprised when the lady told him it was his grandma, considering his own grandmother has no idea how to text. After asking Wanda for a picture he let her know she had the wrong number but asked if he might still be able to join her for Thanksgiving to which she quickly responded, “Of course you can. That’s what grandma’s do…feed everyone.”
The text exchange quickly went viral after Jamal posted a couple screenshots of the conversation online…unfortunately for Wanda, Jamal forgot to blur out her phone number and she ended up with a ton of people asking if they could join her for Thanksgiving as well. Of course she won’t be able to accommodate everyone, but she says her offer still stands for Jamal! They even met in person a few days later where she once again invited him to join her family for dinner on November 24th!
It will be interesting to see if he takes her up on that Thanksgiving dinner, not very often you see people brought together by a simple “wrong number” text!
