After studying couples who have a high tolerance for negativity versus couples who prefer to tackle negativity as it comes up, Dr. Fry found that complaining could be the key to a long lasting relationship! She says couples who complain when they are upset about something rather than keeping things bottled up, face and take care of problems as they arise which leads to more success in the relationship. She says those who keep calm and keep things to themselves when they are frustrated run the risk of having a big blow-up over something small because they haven’t been communicating enough!
