The holidays are a time for giving back! If you are looking to make a difference here in the city this month, The Shoebox Project could be perfect for you and your family to try. Similar to Operation Christmas Child this project asks you to fill a shoebox with gifts for someone less fortunate but instead the box will stay right here in Regina to help out homeless women and women living in shelters. Each box is filled with about $50 worth of gifts. Follow the steps below to make yours before December 15th!
1. Decorate your shoebox – make sure to wrap the top and bottom separately
2. Fill the box with gifts – examples: socks, mittens, sweet treats (nut and alcohol free), multivitamins, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrush, make-up (avoid concealer and foundation), gift cards for restaurants and pharmacy’s, bus tickets
3. Leave an inspirational message
4. Drop it off – in Regina you can drop your gift off at #300, 4561 Parliament Avenue between 8am-5pm or 4710 E. Green Apple Drive Mon. – Thurs. 4:00-8:00pm, Weekends 12-5pm
