Last night the second group of semi-finalists hit the stage on America’s Got Talent, and at times it actually felt like you were watching the finale! Last night there was a fairly clear divide between who should move on and who shouldn’t as some acts went above and beyond hoping to claim one of the last five spots in the competition! The night started off with some of the season’s top child performances including a chilling cover of Katy Perry’s “Rise” by Jayna Brown, the return of magician Kaden Bart Rocket and his sister Brooklyn, and country superstar Kadie Lynn who I’d say had her best performance of the season performing, “I Hope You Dance” by Lee Ann Womack. The kids set the bar high to kick off the night, but it seemed that the performances continued to get stronger and the show went on. One of my favourites included juggler Victor Key who pulled out all the stops to deliver a very beautiful stage production; the juggling didn’t seem as difficult as past performances, but his incredible showmanship should get him through to the finals. Other performances last night included Linkin’ Bridge, who proved that even though they were on the bubble last week you can never count them out, singer Calysta Bevier who was stunning once again this time with her performance of Christina Perri’s “Human”, and the final performance of the night, Brian Justin Crum, who’s been one of my personal favourites since day one. We also saw the judges wild card pick The Passing Zone, which kind of seemed like a waste of a pick…they were good, but took a long time to get to the juggling, also Brundage who had everyone blown away with his rubic’s cube magic once again, The Clairvoyants, and by far the act of the night 14-year-old contortionist Sofie Dossi!
Take a look at some of my picks for the finals below!
